COD Black Ops - Complete

Click this link to see the video without sound fx (eg explosions) http://musictech-richtea.blogspot.com/2010/07/blog-post_17.html

After finally getting around to it, I have finally finished this project:

This promo for the new COD game now includes foley to accompany the soundtrack. This was more time consuming than the composition of the soundtrack, as this video contains lots of dramatic actions, within rapid camera shots. I feel that the mix might have too much emphasis on the foley, as at times it may drown out the music. However, I feel that in order to acheive a successful mix, I need to have good speakers, so I am able to listen to which frequencies need to be boosted/limited etc..

Please comment - might be best at my facebook page, so I know what you think :) thanks.

COD Black Ops - Music

Here is the music for the new COD trailer... i have done this as an exercise, and am not trying to replace the original lol, i actually prefer the original eminem version. OK, so for this, ive mainly used the samples within logic, with the addition of drums from reason and different types of bass and orchestral samples. I very much enjoyed writing this music, i wish i had learnt to use reason in rewire a lot earlier.. Ahh well, still much left to learn in university i suppose :)

Im planning on doing my own sound effects for this. I think that this is going to be very tricky, even if im to manipulate the sounds. (mainly the explosions and gunfire)

COD Black Op - Reason 4

On tuesday, i started a new project, again a another soundtrack. I however wanted to learn how to use reason to its maximum, using its drum machine and other plugins in slave with logic. I decided that I would do the soundtrack for the new COD Black Op Game. I decided this, because the trailer is filled with lots of dramatic shots and actions. I really wanted to use reason's drum machine (redrum), as I love its interface and and functions. Soo, its thursday now, and ive pretty much finihsed the music, im not sure whether to bounce out the movie with just the music, or wait till ive done the foley as well ..... by the way, i'm going to try and do all of my own sound effects, which will be pretty hard i think:s

Idents Project

This is my finished idents project, which includes 4 idents which I have done sound design/effects and music for.

First Ident - Sky - Buildings

Here's the first ident - which is for Sky. I need to mix the other 3, so they won't be up for a week or so.

Idents

Soon, i'll be able to add my finished ident projects to this blog. An ident is basically like an advert which is no longer than 15-20 seconds long, used a lot on television for TV channels, companies etc. I've done 4 in total, and once i've finished these i will do some more, coz they are cool to do :)

War of the Worlds Soundtrack

This is a scene from War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise. The main reason I completed the soundtrack for this was because I was going to use it for my A level Music Composition. I however wanted to make it more of a personal project, by doing foley as well. I used editing programs to pick the scene, then like the COD film, redone all the sounds. I also did a music score, but im not going to bother putting it on here, coz its boring...

Not the best quality video in terms of visual, had to decrease the size coz it was too big :(. Sound should be good quality tho which is more important :).

Call of Duty Soundtrack (by me, visual is original)

This is the game trailer for Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare. I decided that I would do my own soundtrack for it, so I did :). I have done all the music and foley (sound effects) for this trailer, but the visuals are completely original.

Intro

Helllooo, Im Richard, and this blog is going to showcase my finished music tech stuff which I would like to show off basically :). Nahh, I'm not trying to be arrogant, just thought that by keeping a blog of all my projects would be useful for myself, and comments (+ve and -ve, though not harse and unnessary lol) are appreciated :)
